Japanese Reading Challenge 4

giclee

Dolce Bellaza is hosting the Japanese Reading Challenge from the 1st June 2010 to the 30th January 2011.

Between these six months the idea is to challenge yourself to read more books by Japanese authors and review each book you read.

Once you have read a book you can link your review here.

This is my first time taking part in the challenge and I’m glad I have been able to discover it in time. I have been meaning to explore more authors from Japan for a long time and this feels like a great way to discover new authors and new books.

I have only so far, read two Japanese authors: Haruki Murakami and Kirino Natsuo and I have enjoyed both. I have a Ryu Murakami coming up to read soon and will also be re-reading Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami at some point this year too.

I look forward to sharing some brilliant reads within the next six months.

  2. I have just read Kafka on the Shore with my book group and so am looking forward to linking. Japanese literature is something which I have never read before so it is quite a revelation!

A pleasure to discover your blog

  4. I love Kafka On The Shore! I've already read it twice, but it's one of those rare books I could read over and over, and each time I'd gain something new.

I'm so glad that you've joined in the JLC4. It's wonderful to have you!

  5. I can't wait to re-read it - I love those books that have so many layers that each re-read brings something new.
